As we write, news come of the umpteenth possible truce in the State of Israel’s tragic war (lasting since 1948!) of extermination and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Lebanon and the „Syrian“ Golan Heights. Of course, we shall return to the content of this possible truce and above all to its successive developments, without launching into the only too foreseeable merry-go-round of geo-political analyses and and hypotheses. But some things should continue to be clear. Whatever the immediate outcome of this bloody situation, another poisoned fruit of imperialist dynamics, it is evident that there will be no release, whether political, military or humanitarian.
The State of Israel will continue to play the role it has been assigned by U.S. imperialism as armed gendarme in the Middle East, with the tacit consensus of its „allied“ imperialisms and of the „conflictual“ ones of the emerging powers, amidst the guilty and complicit silence of the Arab bourgeoisies, of which the Palestinian factions are part and parcel.
The tragedy of the poletariat in Gaza, the West Bank and the diaspora will not end, as long as it remains so tragically trapped in a national and nationalist perspective (the „people“, the „fatherland“), as voiced by more or less militant bourgeois and bigotted factions like Hamas (and all those who continue to follow it in the grotesque „Resistence Front“) or the corrupt Palestinian National Authority. Even if, in the future and after other inevitable massacres, the „Two-State solution“ should come into being, not only will war fail to cease in the Middle-Eastern powder keg, increasingly similar to the one in the Balkans that produced the First World War (which, like the Second, was an expression of inter-imperialist dynamics), but the Palestinian proletariat, weakened by decades of counter-revolutionary inter-classism, will be the victim not of one, but of two enemies: the Israeli bourgeoisie and its State and the Palestinian one and its State. Will it have the strength to face them and fight them?
It is here at the heart of world imperialism (European, American, Asian) that proletarian internationalism must re-assert itself, both in theory and in practice: war against all national bourgeoisies and their States and first and foremost against our „own“ bourgeoisies, cutting off once and forever criminal, suicidal and murderous national and nationalistic complicity, excessively fuelled over all these years and in all these countries by so-called „left-wing“ forces. Class against class and not peoples against peoples: anti-national internationalism and not nationalism camouflaged as „the peoples federation“; an open struggle against all bourgeoisies, especially against “our own“; revolutionary defeatism and fraternisation amongst proletarians against the new worldwide inter-imperialist massacre that is being prepared. There is no other way.
